Abstract

Aenictus peguensis Emery, 1895 from the A. minutulus group is newly recorded for Thailand. All the specimens were collected with a single pitfall trap in a lowland secondary forest of Nong Tha Yu Arboretum, Chon Buri Province, Eastern Thailand. It is worth noting that this record represents a further range extension of A. peguensis to mainland Southeast Asia in addition to Myanmar and Vietnam. Morphological and bionomic information is also provided with illustrations based on the worker caste.
