Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in the cover letter).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format and has been prepared using the official AJOM template.
  • All authors have approved the content of the submitted manuscript.

  • The text is written in Times New Roman, 12 pt, single-spaced throughout, with all pages numbered in the bottom right corner.
  • Latin names of genera and species are italicized, and automatic hyphenation has been switched off throughout the document.
  • All illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points where they should appear in publication, rather than at the end.
  • Tables are prepared with the table format feature (not using tabs, spaces, graphics, or boxes), with terms in top-line and left column beginning with capital letters, and without vertical lines.
  • References are formatted according to Template_AJOM, listed alphabetically in the References section, and cited chronologically in the text.
  • A cover letter is included explaining why the content is significant and confirming that neither the manuscript nor any parts of its content are currently under consideration or published in another journal.
  • Names, affiliations, and emails of three potential referees are mentioned in the body of the submission comment.
  • For papers with new scientific names, I understand that Index Fungorum numbers and Faces of Fungi numbers must be obtained after acceptance.
