การประเมินวิธี Quantile Delta Mapping สำหรับการปรับแก้อคติข้อมูลฝนรายวันจากแบบจำลอง CMIP6 ด้วยการตรวจสอบข้ามช่วงเวลาแบบอิสระในจังหวัดประจวบคีรีขันธ์

บทคัดย่อ

วัตถุประสงค์และที่มา: ข้อมูลฝนจากแบบจำลองภูมิอากาศโลกภายใต้โครงการ Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6) มีบทบาทสำคัญต่อการศึกษาการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศและการประเมินผลกระทบในระดับพื้นที่ แต่ยังมีความคลาดเคลื่อนเชิงระบบเมื่อเปรียบเทียบกับข้อมูลตรวจวัด จึงมักต้องปรับแก้อคติก่อนนำไปใช้ วิธี Quantile Delta Mapping (QDM) เป็นหนึ่งในวิธีที่ใช้กันอย่างแพร่หลาย อย่างไรก็ตาม การประเมินด้วยข้อมูลช่วงเดียวกับที่ใช้ประมาณความสัมพันธ์อาจสะท้อนผลภายในช่วง calibration เป็นหลัก และไม่แสดงผลของการปรับแก้เมื่อประยุกต์ใช้กับข้อมูลในช่วงเวลาที่ไม่ได้ใช้ในการประมาณ งานวิจัยนี้จึงประเมิน QDM สำหรับการปรับแก้อคติข้อมูลฝนรายวันจากแบบจำลอง CMIP6 โดยใช้ช่วงเวลาอิสระสำหรับตรวจสอบ และพิจารณาผลการปรับแก้แยกตามความคลาดเคลื่อนเชิงระบบ ความสอดคล้องของการแจกแจง ความคลาดเคลื่อนของค่าที่จับคู่ตามเวลา และความสอดคล้องเชิงเวลา

วิธีดำเนินการวิจัย: ใช้ข้อมูลฝนรายวันจากสถานีตรวจวัด 12 แห่งในจังหวัดประจวบคีรีขันธ์ ร่วมกับข้อมูลจากแบบจำลอง CMIP6 จำนวน 5 แบบจำลอง ระหว่าง ค.ศ. 1981–2014 โดยใช้ข้อมูลช่วง ค.ศ. 1981–2000 สำหรับประมาณองค์ประกอบอ้างอิงของ QDM และประเมินผลกับช่วง ค.ศ. 2001–2014 ซึ่งกันไว้โดยไม่ใช้ข้อมูลตรวจวัดในช่วงดังกล่าวเพื่อปรับเทียบใหม่ เปรียบเทียบการประมาณแบบรวมข้อมูลตลอดปี (annual-pooled fitting) กับการประมาณแยกตามเดือนปฏิทิน (calendar-month fitting) และประเมินผลด้วยตัวชี้วัดด้านความคลาดเคลื่อน การแจกแจง และความสัมพันธ์เชิงเวลา รวมทั้งวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบของ mean squared error เพื่ออธิบายสาเหตุของการเปลี่ยนแปลงใน RMSE

ผลการวิจัย: การประมาณทั้งสองรูปแบบช่วยให้ความสอดคล้องของการแจกแจงในช่วงเวลาที่กันไว้สำหรับการตรวจสอบดีขึ้นในระดับใกล้เคียงกัน โดยค่าสถิติ Kolmogorov–Smirnov ลดลงจาก 0.201 ก่อนปรับแก้เป็น 0.102 สำหรับการประมาณแยกตามเดือนปฏิทิน และ 0.105 สำหรับการประมาณแบบรวมข้อมูลตลอดปี ขณะที่ค่า Perkins skill score เพิ่มจาก 0.776 เป็น 0.861 และ 0.859 ตามลำดับ อย่างไรก็ตาม ผลต่อความคลาดเคลื่อนของค่าที่จับคู่ตามเวลาแตกต่างกันอย่างชัดเจน  การประมาณแยกตามเดือนปฏิทินทำให้ค่า RMSE รายเดือนลดลงจาก 116.2 เหลือ 109.3 มิลลิเมตรต่อเดือน และปรับปรุงอย่างมีนัยสำคัญใน 14 จาก 60 คู่สถานี–แบบจำลอง ขณะที่การประมาณแบบรวมข้อมูลตลอดปีทำให้ค่า RMSE เพิ่มเป็น 124.7 มิลลิเมตรต่อเดือน และมีผลแย่ลงอย่างมีนัยสำคัญใน 31 คู่ การแยกองค์ประกอบของค่าเฉลี่ยกำลังสองของความคลาดเคลื่อนแสดงว่า ความแตกต่างของการเปลี่ยนแปลง RMSE ระหว่างสองวิธีประมาณร้อยละ 95 เกิดจากผลต่อองค์ประกอบของวัฏจักรรายปี ขณะที่ทั้งสองวิธีไม่ได้ปรับปรุงองค์ประกอบของความผิดปกติจากวัฏจักรฤดูกาลหรือ                      ค่าสหสัมพันธ์ของความผิดปกติรายเดือนอย่างมีสาระสำคัญ ดังนั้น ค่า RMSE ที่ลดลงจากการประมาณแยกตามเดือนปฏิทินจึงสะท้อนการที่ข้อมูลหลังปรับแก้มีวัฏจักรฤดูกาลใกล้เคียงข้อมูลตรวจวัดมากขึ้น มากกว่าการปรับปรุงความสอดคล้องของความผันแปรของปริมาณฝนตามเวลา

สรุปผลการวิจัย: เมื่อประเมินด้วยช่วงเวลาที่ไม่ได้ใช้ในการประมาณ QDM สามารถปรับปรุงคุณสมบัติบางด้านของการแจกแจงได้ และการประมาณแยกตามเดือนปฏิทินยังช่วยให้วัฏจักรฤดูกาลของข้อมูลฝนสอดคล้องกับข้อมูลอ้างอิงมากขึ้น อย่างไรก็ตาม ไม่พบว่าการปรับแก้ช่วยปรับปรุงความสอดคล้องของความผันแปรตามเวลาที่ประเมินในงานนี้ การเปลี่ยนแปลงของ RMSE และ NSE จึงควรตีความร่วมกับองค์ประกอบของความคลาดเคลื่อน และไม่ควรใช้เป็นหลักฐานโดยตรงของการฟื้นคืนความสอดคล้องเชิงเวลา ผลการศึกษาชี้ว่าการประเมินวิธีปรับแก้อคติควรแยกคุณสมบัติของข้อมูลออกเป็นหลายมิติ และเลือกตัวชี้วัดให้สอดคล้องกับวัตถุประสงค์ของการนำข้อมูลไปใช้
