Publication Ethics

Publication in Burapha Science Journal is made in strict compliance with the ethics guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and our following statement.

1. Ethics for the Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board members

The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for evaluating manuscripts for their intellectual content free from any racial, gender, sexual, religious, ethnic, or political bias.

The Editorial Board is composed of subject matter experts in these academic areas. It is responsible for overseeing the editorial process of the journal, including managing the peer review process, deciding which articles to publish, and ensuring that the content of the journal meets the standards of the journal's scope and mission. The Editorial Board members take all reasonable measures to ensure that the reviewers remain anonymous to the authors before, during and after the evaluation process and the authors remain anonymous to reviewers until the end of the review procedure.

The Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board members must hold no conflict of interest with respect to the articles they consider for publication. They reserve the right to decide not to publish submitted manuscripts in case it is found that they do not meet relevant standards concerning the content and formal aspects.

The Editorial Board is also involved in setting strategic directions for the development of the journal, propose new topics for special issues or sections, or help identify potential authors and reviewers.

2. Ethics for Reviewers to BSJ

Reviewers are responsible for providing a review in a timely fashion based on the journal’s policy for review. Reviewers must read the manuscript thoroughly and provide constructive feedback with a respectful tone to improve the quality of the article. The reviewer’s comments and conclusions should be objective and free from any personal or professional biases. The reviewers must not have conflict of interest with respect to the research, the authors, or the funding sources for the research. If such conflicts exist, the reviewers must report to the Editor immediately. Any selected reviewer who feels unqualified to review the research or knows that the review will be impossible should notify the Editor immediately.

3. Ethics for Authors to BSJ

The authors affirm that their manuscript is their original work, that it has not been published, and that they will not be considered for publication elsewhere in any language. Simultaneous submission of the same article to another journal constitutes misconduct and disqualifies the manuscript from consideration by BSJ.

Authors wishing to include figures, tables, or other materials already published elsewhere must obtain permission from the copyright holders. Any material received without such proof will be assumed to have originated with the authors. Plagiarism is regarded as serious misconduct by BSJ. Therefore, all information and content that originates from other sources must be properly credited, cited, and included in the “References” section.

It is the responsibility of each author to ensure that articles submitted to the BSJ are written with ethical standards in mind. Authors warrant that the article does not contain unsubstantiated or unlawful statements and does not violate the rights of third parties. The Publisher will not be held legally responsible should there be any claims for compensation.

4. Research Integrity Policy

Research articles submitted for publication involving research on human subjects must be approved by a Human Research Ethics Review Board of an institution authenticated by the National Research Council of Thailand and in accordance with: International Ethical and Legal Standards. In addition, experiments involving animals must be approved by the Constituting of Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee and fall under the Animals for Scientific Purposes Act, 2015.
